We're building a library of good children's books. So far we have...
- Established criteria for selecting books: What does & does not belong in your library
- Identified frugal sources for good books &
- Presented fun ideas for a book-themed birthday party, another frugal way to build a library
**At the end of the post, there's a link to a handy-dandy PDF list of all these books for you to print & keep.**

These books all hold a special place in my heart. As I share them with my children,
I hope they will enjoy the characters, illustrations, and stories as
much as I have and pass them on to their own children.
My hope is that you will find books that your children will cherish, too.
What is YOUR favorite children's book?
Blessings to you,

Wow, comprehensive list! My kids have sadly outgrown these! But what an amazing time to enrich their lives with the beauty of lit! saw you linked at one of the hops...I think HHH? and clicked over.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day and God bless!
Thanks, Chris, for the encouragement.
DeleteThese is such an incredible resource! We have several of the books you mentioned, but a lot of them are new to me. I'm pinning this right now! But not before telling you that my favorite book is "Hedge of Thorns" by Lamplighter Books. If you're reading The Chronicles of Narnia, then I don't think you'll have any trouble with this book . :)
ReplyDeleteJillian, we are not reading the Narnia books just yet, but I hope to soon :) I will check out the "Hedge of Thorns" book though. Wish I'd won it :)
DeleteWe love so many of those books! Of the ones you've listed, my favorite girlhood book will always be Anne of Green Gables. So many life lessons are in those books, and I see it now as I'm rereading them as an adult. And I'm also realizing that my daughter's precociousness makes her so much like Anne.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine list! I am a retired children's librarian, loving just about every book here. Glad to see this for parents and even people like me who love to give books away! Thanks, ~ linda
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine list! As a retired children's librarian and teacher, I love to see this classics in the hands of families reading together, children still reading them and loving them. For me, I can use this for the book gifts I love to give! Thanks, ~ linda
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list! I love knowing what other parents think makes a classic for their kids. It's so nice to hear about families that are making reading a priority as there are so many other distractions in today's world. You have put together a great list, and wonderful library for your kids. Thank you for sharing with Cozy Reading Spot!

Wow! What a list! This is a great resource for new parents (and old ones too!) I think I'm like you; if I tried to say my favorite children's book, I'd end up with a list of 75! Thanks for linking up with Booknificent Thursday!
